Session I:
Shales & Reservoirs: Rock Physics and Effective Media
Introduction to New Graduate Students & their projects:
Session II:
Computational Methods and EM
Session III:
Reservoir Characterization and Inversion of Seismic Data
The Forum for Exploration and Development Geophysics Education and Researchwill include presentations of graduate student, post-doc and faculty research as well as a review of ongoing and upcoming collaborative projects with our industry partners in the following
Focus Areas of Application:
- Characterization of Unconventional Resources
including resource plays, tight gas sands and shale production
- Time Lapse Seismic and reservoir monitoring
particularly as it relates to reservoir monitoring and extraction of changes in reservoir properties
- Quantitative Methods of Analysis
specifically numerical simulation of seismic wave propagation in elastic media
DATES: Monday, 28th February through Tuesday, 1st March 2011
The Symposium will commence Monday investigating aspects of geophysical interpretation followed by the EDGER Forum Annual Dinner on Monday evening. A business meeting, for sponsors and potential sponsors, will be held on Tuesday morning with the afternoon dedicated to presentations and discussions on quantitative methods of analysis. An agenda and further details will be posted here in late January.
