EDGER Forum Workshop on Shales, POSTPONED
When: TBD
Where: BHP Billiton, Houston
The EDGER Forum sponsors short workshops on specific topics of interest to sponsors. The Workshop on Shales, originally planned for December 2012 is now postponed until further notice. Many of our sponsors had hoped to present, however due to sensitivities of the competitive nature of exploration geophysics in the are of shale research, as well as an inability to get necessary permissions to share research, a decision has been made to postpone the workshop until after the Annual Meeting & Technical Symposium to be held on campus at UT-Austin on March 4 & 5, 2013. The objective of this workshop will be to share insights into geophysical characterization of shales, particularly addressing what geophysical properties of shales may differentiate between good and poor producing wells. Open to EDGER Forum Members Only, the workshop aims to provide an opportunity to share problems and discuss fundamental issues related to shale properties with other corporate sponsors as well as faculty, students and researchers from the Jackson School of Geosciences UT-Austin.
